Created in January 2002 with a grant from the United States Davis Cup team on behalf of rising American tennis star Andy Roddick, the Greater Stamford Tennis Association is a non-profit corporation and a registered community tennis association and organizational member of the United States Tennis Association.

Greater Stamford Tennis Association
To unite the varied tennis-minded groups and individuals in the City of Stamford and the surrounding area in order:
- To promote and develop the growth of tennis in the area.
- To facilitate the educational, physical and social development of all children through tennis activities.
- To build sound values by letting children experience the link between success on the court and commitment to a disciplined training schedule.
- To encourage participation, personal integrity, leadership and competitive spirit in a friendly environment that builds responsible citizens.
